Sometimes our students prefer to use their own laptops - and we're quite happy with that (although we always have one of our machines available for them). By using their own machine on a public course, students go away with all the work they have done to hand, and they can easily do practicals on their own data. If a trainee on a coures needs to make a secure VPN connection to his office, what's easier than using his own, already authorised, laptop?
