Object Oriented programming for larger projects

If you're undertaking a larger project, you'll probably benefit from using object oriented programming. Some of the languages we teach (Java and Python, for example) are inherently "OO", and others (such as Perl and Tcl) have language facilities that can let you write excellent OO code. On our courses, we teach not only the mechanisms that are used in each language for OO design, but we also introduce design philosophies and techniques such as UML, and we set the trainees practicals on which they can put everything together. "Very neat - very clever - I'm convinced - that's easier than I had dared hope" was a comment on the recent Perl for Larger Projects course.
