This is a picture of our training room, being set up for a PHP course. Each trainee is provided with a laptop computer to use throughout the course, and a set of training notes, notepad and pen to take away afterwards. The trainee has a choice of operating system (Linux, Windows or OS X) for the laptop he's using as his workstation, and in the case of a server-based language such as PHP he can also choose the most appropriate server to upload to. For the course we were setting up when this picture was taken, for example, we ran servers with PHP 4.3.x and PHP 5, and we offered a choice of server operating system too. With our small group size (maximum of 7 trainees), we can speak with each of our clients ahead of time even for a public course, and ensure that we have an appropriate configuration for them.
