By reading, by undertaking contract work, by listening to the students who come along on his courses, by networking with other geeks, and by attending a number of other carefully selected seminars and conferences. In October, Graham attended "Perl Whirl" and "MySQL Swell", where the originators of Perl, PHP and MySQL were all talking to small groups, and sat through (enthralled) many hours of lectures. Then in November, we ran a "Technology Weekend" where we invited customers and geek friends to an update session at our Melksham, Wiltshire training centre. Good time was had by all, and a special thanks to all those folks who gave up their weekend to come along.
