In Autumn, 2003, we introduced our Deployment courses. They are intended for non-programmers who will be required to install applications in their own environments, trouble shoot installation problems, then support the day to day running of the code they've installed. These courses cover a wide range of subjects such as Apache httpd configuration, Java tools and structure, Tomcat, installing, configuring and backing up MySQL, and any Linux you might need to learn from a user or admin perspective. In practise, we've found that many programmers are interested in these courses too as it teaches them the background environment that isn't covered on a narrow language course.
