We provide a laptop for each trainee to use for the duration of every course, and we network those laptops - for an on site course, you need provide only a room and the trainees. For a public course or a course at our centre, just provide the trainees. Here's one of our onsite network hubs. These days, it sometimes suggested that it would be easier for use to use a wireless network, but some customer sites are worried about the security implications (and perhaps ban such networks) so we stick to category 5 cabling. At our training centre, we use both cabled and wireless networks, and we welcome student's own computers onto our network, and to make use of our internet connection. For on site private courses, we do NOT require any form of external connection as such things would be hard to set up and secure and there would most likely be all sorts of firewall issues.
