We provide a laptop computer, with the language (or other software we're using) preloaded for each student on the course. We've chosen to use laptops, even though they are more expensive that desktop systems, as it makes for a much more friendly training environment. People aren't hiding behind their system, but can discuss PHP, Python or Tcl around the room.
