Course Topics: Linux/LAMP Student level: Intermediate Course Type: public UK courses Public training courses are held at our Melksham,
Wiltshire, training centre. A maximum of seven trainees, each of
whom has exclusive use of a workstation, are booked onto each

The following match your requirements most closely Linux Administration is a one day course on which we cover fundamental Linux administration.
This day is targeted at people who will be managing web servers and covers service
provision, basic networking, user and group accounts, installing software and backups.
Linux Web Server. A two day course covering the installation, configuration and maintenance
of an Apache httpd server under Linux and associated technologies such as Perl, PHP,
Python, MySQL, XML and XSLT.
Deploying LAMP - Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP is a four day course covering the technologies involved
in installing, configuring and supporting a web application written in
Perl or PHP. Topics include Internet and web structure and addressing, HTML,
an introduction to Perl and PHP, Linux, XML, Apache and SQL.
Deploying Apache and Tomcat is a two day course covering the technologies involved
in installing, configuring and supporting a web application written in
Java under Tomcat ana Apache. We also offer a longer course Deploying Java Applications on Linux / Unix which
may be more suitable is you're not already familiar with Java / SQL /
HTML / XML and web site structure.
The following courses may also be of interest Deploying Java Applications on Linux / Unix is a five day course covering the technologies involved
in installing, configuring and supporting a web application written in
Java. Topics include Internet and web structure and addressing, HTML,
Java itself, Servlets and JSP, XML, Apache and Tomcat, SQL and JDBC.
We also offer a shorter course Deploying Apache and Tomcat covering the deployment and support
of just Apache and Tomcat.
Linux Basics is a one day course covering the basics of the Linux operating
system for users - the topics you'll need to know if you're uploading and / or
managing a web site that's running on a Linux server.
Java Programming for the Web is a five day course covering the Java language itself for
those who have programmed before, and the more commonly used standard
classes such as String, Utilities, IO, as well as Servlet, Applet and
JSP topics. Also covers Regular Expressions and other Java2 5.0
enhancements. If you'll be responsible for deploying web applications
in Java, you might also like to look at Deploying Apache and Tomcat.
Attendees who will be using Java in larger, threaded
or distributed applications will want to consider Java Extra in addition.
PHP Programming is a four day course that covers server-side Web
programming using the PHP language. As well as the fundamentals of
the language, Web subjects such as cookies and session control are
covered, and interfacing to SQL databases, XML and dynamic graphics.
Perl Programming is a five day Perl programming course. It covers the
major features of the language and their use for newcomers.
Using Perl on the Web teaches you the application of Perl on the worldwide
web. The course assumes a knowledge or Perl as taught on our Perl Programming
course, and extends your knowledge so that you can use Perl to glue
applications to the internet.
Programming in C is a two day course that covers the fundamentals of
the C language for trainees with prior programming experience.
Please contact us if you have no prior programming experience, and
please look at our C and C++ Programming course if you want to learn C and C++.
C++ for C Programmers is a two day course that covers the fundamentals of
the C++ language for trainees with prior programming experience of
the C language. This course introduces you to the principles of
OO programming and how they're implemented in C. Please consider
our C and C++ Programming course instead if you do not have prior knowledge of C.
MySQL is a two day course covering the structure of database
engines and how to write database applications using SQL. As well
as SQL itself, this course covers the installation and administration
of MySQL, database and table design, security, and using MySQL from
Perl and/or PHP and/or Java as appropriate for the trainee group.
At Well House Consultants, we're also experienced in
Solaris, Mac OS X, Motif, FrameMaker, HTML, XML and other technologies.
Although we don't have current training material on these,
please do ask us if you have training requirements which include
elements on these subjects.
