For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Still teaching Tcl in 2016?

Yes, we still offer Tcl courses   [82][ac][c2]æ as I have just answered an enquirer. Even though it's the second-oldest language that we teach, it has stood the test of time well and there's a large code base in use that needs supporting and updating from time to time.

The public courses are
Learning to Program in Tcl, 5 days for newcomers to programming, £1350.00
Tcl Programming, 4 days for delegates with prior programming experience in another language, £1100

Second and subsequent place on same order and course - £1250 or £1000

Add an extra £70.00 per room per night if you want to stay at our training centre / hotel - Well House Manor during your course.

These days, we do a lot more training on languages like Python and Ruby, and for some of the less frequent subjects we schedule weeks about 6 times a year where we run whichever course first takes a booking. Upcoming weeks are those commencing 1st Febraury, 11th April and 20th June. If you book (or let me know you  [82][ac] Ä re likely to book) on any one of those, I can fix that week for Tcl and you  [82][ac] Ä re guaranteed that the course will run - even if it  [82][ac] Ä s just for one delegate. But please don  [82][ac] Ä t leave the booking right up to a few days before the course, as chances are that it won  [82][ac] Ä t be available.

We can also run private Tcl courses for you - at our place or yours. Typically these courses become cost effective if you have 3 or more delegates. There  [82][ac] Ä s a pricing matrix at http://www.wellho.net/net/quote.html?where=BS for courses in the Bristol area   [82][ac][c2]æ just change the letters on the   [82][ac][c5][93]where  [82][ac][c2][9d] section of the URL for other postcode zones. The weeks of 15th February, 14th March and 18th April, 25th April are currently available in my diary.

A significant minority of delegates on our Tcl courses are learning to use Tcl in association with the Tk toolkit (Graphic User Interface) and / or   [82][ac][cb]Üexpect  [82][ac] Ä . Some others are using the Incr-Tcl extension. We have some coverage of each of these on our public courses, and almost inevitably with the small size of the classes we find that we have can expand coverage on one or another of them as is relevant to the group. For private courses, where you  [82][ac] Ä re using Tcl without Tk and without Expect, I would suggest we tailor the course and can then reduce it from 4 or 5 days to 3 or 4.
