The course must go on - improvements to tutor travel plans, with immediate effect
The roads get busier ... and a journey of 50 miles that the AA route planner estimated at 80 minutes took me 110 this morning.
At current traffic levels, perhaps a bypass is needed for the Chippenham bypass?
As I drove towards Corston, in the middle of the countryside the traffic dropped to a crawl ... and as we came in the village, the road was awash with water and only just passable. There must have been one heck of a shower
The - as I'm sure you can guess - as I got into the town in which I'm training, every set of traffic lights turned against me as I approached it.
I don't think the course quality suffered ... but I could certainly have done without the delays, and I wasn't quite at my freshest when I arrived - as the ultimate measure,
I didn't even have time to grab a cup of coffee before I started!
The roads continue to get busier, and petrol prices remain high. And I don't get any younger. In order to ensure that the quality of our courses remains very high, with immediate effect I'll be driving out to the town where I'm running courses the night before they start in all but the most very local of cases. And I'll be staying away in those towns for the duration on the course.
Our expenses scale will change to reflect this improvement for bookings made from 1st January 2013 - for the course I'm presenting this week it would have made a difference of just under 2%. And that's a small price to pay to maintain our private courses at the best possible quality. Even if there are flood scenes like the one above ...
