For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Testimonials - Well House Consultants Open Source courses

Many company web sites carry testimonials from satisfied customers - and indeed such plaudits are positive, re-assuring and helpful. We've not elected in the past to go down this route on our training courses, preferring instead to introduce prospective customers to people who have recently attended the course that they're considering booking. That way, the prospective customer gets a far deeper review of the course, and a review which we have been able to be very selective indeed about.

However, people do like to read what's being said about the courses they're looking at, so here's a recent selection taken from end-of-course reviews...

"Additional Comments (about anything)"

• Excellent course. Learned loads - Thanks [SW/LW]

• Good Weekend - lots to think about. Thanks [LH/PO] (exceptionally, a weekend course)

• Graham's ability to cite real world similes is a very good aid to understanding the concepts thus illustrated [DG/UL]

• I got exactly what I wanted from the course and look forward to the next one I attend, what ever it may be [GL/JB]

• I really enjoyed the course and found the contents delivered with enthusiasm and well clarified examples and explanations. Suddenly aspects that I'd been confused by and afraid of made complete sense! Thank You [MD/JB]

• It was a good overview, could have done with being over a few more days but that wasn't down to the tutor [DA/PL] (private course to customer's spec)

• Many thanks for putting this course on for us. I have learned lots [Jx/RP]

• Really enjoyed the course. Practical sessions were useful and nice to have some flexibility [MW/JB]

• Seeing the worked examples from scratch, then doing exercises, was an excellent way to learn [CB/UB]

• Very Interesting. Nice to have training which is not all Powerpoint. Graham knows a lot about everything and keeps the interest of the course [TJ/JB]

• Very enjoyable presentation and stay, thank you very much [KV/PL]

• Very good course with benefit of relaxed environment [AC/PP]

• Very good, useful and enjoyable course, Thank you [MG/PP]

• Very very good thank you very much [JT/PP]

• Very well presented, good facilitates, very well looked after [MG/LW]

Our end-of-course review sheets include a whole series of other questions - concerning the pace of the course, the knowledge of the tutor, the facilities, which sections were most (and least) useful, and other things that delegates would like to see added. We take these factors into account - and with great weight - as we continue to update and develop the courses over the years; in due course, such inputs and the tuning they trigger is reflected in comments such as the ones I've published above.

(15 testimonials, all in last few months, covering 8 different subjects. Perl - Python - PHP - Ruby - Lua - Java - Tcl - C - C++ programming; MySQL, Linux, Apache and Tomcat too. See [here] for a public course schedule or [here] to find out about onsite courses.)
