It's 07:30 in the morning and I've already made breakfast, changed a room over (two more to complete), and got more or less ready for a course (two systems to go yet). And that's after a very busy and long day yesterday.
We've always said that we should be robust enough to stand things happening at the worst possible time - and he weekend just gone has proven it ... with one member of staff away in the Marches, and two more of us down in Devon for a couple of nights ... the final member of the team went of sick (and of the emergency hospital type sick!). Many thanks to a good friend who "hotel sat" for us for a few hours, and we've proven that indeed we are robust to stand it ... but that's only in the shorter term; things like laundry and ironing are building up, and some of my important but not "urgent - there's a customer waiting" stuff is on the back burner.
Check one - are the customers receiving the correct, quality product that they are promised / expect?
Yes, I believe so, but I do think a second pair of eyes to check me would be good!
Check two - whence forward?
We can carry on with the immediate stuff, and it'll get easier - but I would be very receptive to an approach by email from someone who's got some hours to help out over the next week or two, and would enjoy doing so for suitable reward. (written 2010-08-09, updated 2010-08-20)
