Following on from yesterday, I spotted a name crop up again that doesn't get to much of a mention here. [see here]


It's been a beautiful evening in Cambridge; I talk a brief stroll down from my hotel, along Chesterton Road on on to Jesus Green - I was walking in towards the city; every one else seemed to be cycling or running the other way. It's early in the season and the place isn't overrun with visitors sitting on every available perch, the river's punt aren't out for the season yet.


During my course, I was discussing the effect of the transport problems with my delegates. Some reported few problems, others reported their staff working out of hotels half way around the world, and of a course their colleagues were due to give in India which they had had to pull. Of course, people aren't all home yet, but it seems that the skies opened just before the effect was really dire.


It's not just in the air that there are travel problems - the Cambridge Guided Busway (all 160 million pounds worth - that's over a thousand pounds for every man, woman and child who lives in the City) still isn't open, and even scheduled announcement about the date of the opening has been missed - but we have had an announcement about when the announcement will come (I think it was a slow local news day!)


Even private car drivers seem to have potential problems around here ... this another view of the guided busway. And I have further pictures [here]
