For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Training Courses - time of change

The room is familiar - I've taught in it before - but other things are different. My first courses "here" (and here is on site, away from Melksham) was for a company who's offices host the room; there was a bustling office surrounding the room, a good (if slightly plastic) coffee machine in the canteen area. But then the recession hit and - at very short notice - a follow up course was "pulled", and I got the distinct impression that my proposed delegates may have lost a rather more than a course. I'm back in the same room again this week. The course is a different one, booked by a different company. The once bustling office is now packed up desks - signs of moving out. The coffee machine is switched off and there's no-one around. Eerie.

Ironically, some of the delegates are familiar faces - people I know from here and elsewhere in the area too - and we're having a great an full course. The best people learning new roles. Training is all about change - change to skill sets for new requirements, and this re-visiting of the same room really brings that home.
