Perl with Oracle

Hello ,Actually i wanted to ask if it is useful to connect oracle with perl using DBI.
N also how can i do ti.
Active perl 5.8 doesnt have the oracle.pm file but has the DBI file and the perl version 5.6 has the oracle.pm file but does not have the DBI file.
