select multiple files Posted by dee00zee (dee00zee), 26 July 2005 I try to select multiple file by using the following command but it doesn't work. Anyone can help?tk_getOpenFile -parent . -multiple 1 Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 26 July 2005 The example in the manual doesn't just use the single line of code but has it included in a program. If you can post up a short but complete example of your program (not just the line you think is wrong) and also a description of how it fails ("does not work" doesn't tell me very much!), I'll see if I can spot anything obvious.Posted by dee00zee (dee00zee), 26 July 2005 #!/usr/local/bin/wishproc Browse { } { global types set file [tk_getOpenFile -multiple 1] if {$file != ""} { puts "set path $file" } } button .but -text Browse -command { Browse } pack .but -side top -expand true ############################### I want to select multiple files using the code above, but it doesn't work. I still need to select the file one by one eventhough I on the multiple option. Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 26 July 2005 Well - your code worked for me (provided a window in which I could select more than one option) on my Mac. I do note that the manual talks about the multiple option only working in certain OS conditions - have you checked that? I also note that clicking on one option de-selects the others by default; your user may need to hold the shift of control key down to make a multiple selection. Slightly off-topic, but this is also a major issue with HTML multiple select boxes ... that the users simply don't realise the extra actions (e.g. holding meta shift of control keys down) that they can take to select more than one option at a time.
