binding rectangles in tk-canvas Posted by vinzy1983 (vinzy1983), 29 November 2004 hi,could someone pls tell me how to bind a rectangle with a procedure call, in a canvas?? i guess i should be using tags to do this, but i'm not very clear with using tags for binding.. would be more helpful if u can give me a piece of code as an example... Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 30 November 2004 We've got a complete piece of code you can look at (and cut and paste as an example if you wish) at http://www.wellho.net/resources/ex.php4?item=t219/can2.In this example, a numer of shapes including two rectangles are drawn. Some of the shapes (including one of the rectangles) can be picked up by the mouse and dragged around through the bining tags mechanism, whereas other shapes are static and cannot be altered. I think this provides the example you're looking for - the procedure bound to in this example is the mouse drag .... Posted by vinzy1983 (vinzy1983), 30 November 2004 hi graham, thanks for the useful example code.. but while binding, can call some other procedure instead of writing lines of code. bcoz in my application i am calling an already written procedure. it is something like:::: bind rect_tag <Double-1> \ "draw_gui ../utils/$elem_from_res_use_list_right.pm $index_for_top $cc_cnt" THANKS IN ADVANCE Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 30 November 2004 Yes, you can. You can bind to any command you like, including a command you have defined yourself as a "proc" or one that someone else has defined and you have loaded. It's standard Tcl.This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
