Substitute to "trap" command in linux for windows Posted by kinshuk_mishra (kinshuk_mishra), 30 September 2003 Hi,I have written a procedure for telnet using expect. The OS i am using is windows. I wanted to know if there is some thing like Trap in linux through which i can trap the output of the command being executed on telnet shell to a variable. For example I have written a script to telnet linux box from windows PC and want to execute ifconfig command on linux box. How can i get the output of ifconfig in a variable on windows PC. Work around for this is to direct the output of ifconfig to a file on linux box and ftp it back to windows PC. Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 1 October 2003 Can't you use expect_out(buffer) to catch the information generated by your spawned process? This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
