For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Can I combine Expect and Tk

Posted by enquirer (enquirer), 1 December 2002
I want to use both a GUI and the process control of Expect in the same script. Can I do so?

Yes, you can.   Look for the executable "expectk"; this includes both the Tk GUI, and the expect extensions to Tcl.

Expect is one of those "hidden secrets" of Tcl .... it's probably the prime reason for about 20% of Tcl users coming to Tcl in the first place, and most of the other 80% really don't know of it until it's pointed out to them.  There's really only one book on Expect - "Exploring Expect" by Don LIbes, who wrote Expect in the first place, and you'd think that it's out of date if you look at its publication date.  Let me assure you that it's not!  Expect admirably does what it's written to do and is a good stable piece of software that doesn't need a constant series of updates and releases
