Mirror database - low bandwidth Posted by Tor (Tor), 13 August 2004 I want to have an emergancy copy of my MySql database on a server in a branch office. The bandwidth is limited, and the copy/mirror/replication operation can't be done during business hours. How is this best solved? Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 13 August 2004 If this is an emergency and you want to do the copy NOW ... I would suggest you do a MySQLdump on the server in the branch office, onto the local disc at that machine, zip or gzip the output and transfer it over via FTP or get someone to stick a CD or DVD in the drive to write a copy. This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
