Error upon Attempt to Connect Posted by MySQLNovice (MySQLNovice), 7 July 2003 I am an absolute newcomer to MySQL. I've purchased a book as a guide "MYSQL by Paul Dubois" I've installed MYSQL on my Windows 2000 Pro. Desktop, it is running as a service to Windows. I've installed MYODBC also so that I can use MS-Access as a front to the MySQL RDBMS. I've followed all directions to make a DSN connection and when I attempt to connect I get a password error and access is denied. How can I verify the password to the sampdb that came with the MySQL download? Can anyone help me with this issue?Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 7 July 2003 Get MySQL running from the MySQL client first - then at least you'll be splitting your problem in two. You've posted another question on that topic, and I think the answer to that may get you started. This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
