Formatting Posted by cloughie (cloughie), 24 September 2007 Does anyone have some good examples of formatting ?I understand the case where it's a simple "%s %s) %(value1,value2) but I'm not so clear about taking a value from a file (which will come through as between 1 and 255) and constructing something like : CHAR(01) Notice the preceeding zero and also the lack of spaces between athe brackets and the '01'. Obviously, after the value of 9, there's no problem. Lastly, I'd like to easilly change an incoming date, such as 11/07/2007 to be encased in single quotes, '11/07/2007'. Is there a very simple way of doing this ? (of course there is) Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 24 September 2007 Here are some quick examples which I THINK answer you. I'm just rushing past my keyboard; please excuse the shortness of the post and welcome. But this should give you some cluesCode:
