For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
how do I change hyperlink colours in HTML

Posted by Chris_Isaac (Chris Isaac), 29 July 2003
Hi

I'm trying to change some hyperlink colours on my page, but not others.  What I have is basically several images as hyperlinks and have set LINK, ALINK and VLINK to the same colour as the background (done this in the body bit), so there are no 'boxes' around the images.  Fine so far, but I have other hyperlinks (just text) which become invisible.

Is it possible to change some hyperlink colours, but not others.  I have tried putting more LINK, etc in the other hyperlink fields but it doesn't work, also tried changing the Text colour, but that didn't work either.

Thanks

Chris

I think you can do it with styles, but I don't have my books at hand (I'm away training this week).  However - a better solution would be to turn off the link box around the images which you can do with a BORDER=0 in the IMG tag and leave all your text links in a single colour.

Thats perfect, thats exactly what I wanted.
