For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))

Is it possible to have all new posts on one of the forums sent to me at the email address I registered with?

You don't actuall have to log in to see postings (that may save you a step if you have cookies disabled or you're on an internet cafe machine), and you can set up to be nofified when there's an update to an individual topic - but I think that might be an instant message.

Good idea ... wish I could just throw a switch and have you emailed with all the changes on a particular board but
     - don't think it's in the software
     - I'm concerned at spam / security issues, which is probably why it's not in the software in the first place

I will give it a thought - perhaps a moderated journal for those who subscribe to it would be possible on a twice weekly basis.   Thoughts, anyonbe?

Giving this some further thought; me thinks that we're getting a significant but low volume of posts - perhaps too few to encourage people to come back every day or two.

Would anyone welcome the ability to receive (or object to) a weekly digest of postings to boards to which they have posted (or subscribed)?
