For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Posting passwords, posting worms and viruses

Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 13 December 2003
Please don't post passwords - even your own - on these boards, as doing so will compromise the security of the system about which you're posting. The moderators will edit your posts to remove / change passwords they find posted.

Please don't post complete worms, viruses or other programs that could be used to exploit holes.  Applications which automatically attempt to connect to a series of systems in the hope of exploiting a security hole left unclosed are very useful in the hands of a system administrator, and you may wish to discuss their development here is you are such an administrator.  But if you post up the complete code, a malicious user could use exactly the same code as the basis of an unauthorised attack.  The moderators will edit any posts that contain complete programs of this description to render them harmless; moderation will be as minimal as is practical to achieve this aim, and we will attempt to leave the post in sufficiently good shape that the questions being asked can still be answered.
