For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Please help us help you - don't delete old posts

This forum is becoming a useful resource to answer some hard-to-solve but apparently trivial questions ... the sort of thing that 80% of newcomers to the language we cover want to ask.

So if you've posted a question and someone's taken the time and trouble to give you an answer which costs you nothing, please leave the whole exchange on the board for others to read, and please don't make the person who answered you look as if he was talking to himself.   Thanks!

P.S.  If you see a low number of views to pages, don't be fooled ... that number doesn't include people who are searching the web for answers to questions and find the pages in our archives at http://www.wellho.net/forum/top.html.  I've just been having a glance through our logs, and most threads are called up that way several times each week ....

The policy remains - please do not delete old posts, as they form a useful archive for others who are searching for answers to similar questions.

However ... over the next few months, we may start deleting a few threads that are very old.  Decisions will be made on a case by case basis; threads that may be deleted include those which contain information which has been superceded, those which are non-technical, and those which simply duplicate information that's elsewhere on the site.  This bookkeeping will help keep our search archives crisp and easy to use - will help our users see the wood for through the trees if you like.
