Negative Posts Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 28 October 2004 We try to keep Opentalk a positive place, and post "nice" - however, there are occasions where you might want to post up something negative such as reporting a problem you've had with a company or supplier. I received a threatening personal message recently concerning a negative post that I made (you'll see I have a go at the scam artists sometimes), and I've given some thought to such posts.1. Personal attacks on people should not be posted here and such posts will be removed, even if the operator of the board happens to agree with the poster. 2. If you make a negative post concerning a company, piece of sofware, website, etc you're likely to get an email from one of us to remind you that you are responsible for the content of your post and part of your agreement when you sign up is that you accept that responsibility. 3. Negative posts that are not personal attacks will usually be allowed to remain on the board, but the moderator and/or operator of the site may follow up with a reminder that views expressed do not necessarily reflect their views and are the resposnsibility of the poster. Please bear in mind that a negative post concerning a product or web site that's looked after by someone who's a member here is likely to cause (at least) a complaint to the operator of the board. However, if you feel it is important and justified, and you have thought it through, then please go ahead. You'll find a number of posts on Opentalk that already warn about scams and they provide a service in line with what we're looking to do here - namely to alert people to schemes that may be shady. This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
