Copyright - a caution

Whilst these boards are open for anyone to post to (and we welcome posts!), may I ask you not to post material that you've copied from books, other web sites, etc, unless you're sure that they're not copyright.

My understanding is that a few words (e.g. John Brown says that "The sky is green" in his book "paint my home town") is OK, but thumping great programs aren't ... as moderator, I'll have to take down posts that include huge quotes.  

Helpful alternative ... if you want to post up code that's possibly copyright and elsewhere on the net, you're perfectly free to point us to it using a link.
