| Stephen R. Schach | Stephen R. (Steve) Schach, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Computer Engineering at Vanderbilt University, obtained an M.S. in Physics at the Weizmann Institute of Science in 1972, and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Cape Town in 1973. Between 1972 and 1983, he held faculty positions in the Departments of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Cape Town. In 1983 he joined the Department of Computer Science at Vanderbilt University.
His research interests are in the field of software engineering in general and specifically in the empirical analysis of open-source software. He has written a number of textbooks on software engineering, object-oriented software engineering, and object-oriented systems analysis and design. He consults and teaches short courses internationally on a variety of software engineering topics, including reuse, CASE, and the object-oriented paradigm. |
