| Daniel Gilly | A UNIX user since 1983, Daniel Gilly graduated from MIT in 1985 and joined O'Reilly and Associates in 1986. In his six years at O'Reilly, first as a production editor and later as a staff writer, Daniel wrote UNIX in a Nutshell, revised Learning the vi Editor, and had an editorial hand in several books in the X Window series.
After 10 years in the Boston area, Daniel moved to Silicon Valley in 1992. He currently works as a contract technical writer and focuses on using HTML and CGI to develop corporate intranets. Daniel's travels have included three cross-country drives across the U.S. He enjoys singing bass with a top-ranked chorus, the San Jose chapter of the barbershop society.
