Graham in more detail
Graham was brought up in the London suburbs, and has one of the first degrees in Computer Science. Always wanting a challenge, he took a job in a technical support job after University which meant a high level of customer interaction, both pre and post sales. He moved naturally on into a sales role, then left to become an equal partner with a colleague in a software startup that they ran successfully for a number of years. Graham's role as technical director included specification and provision of product, training and technical support and also the management of a small team of staff; the product was sold both to end user clients in the UK, and through resellers abroad.
As European Technical Support Manager for Megatek, and then for Connectware (USA operations based out of California and Texas), Graham continued his career in high tech, customer facing roles. Rapid technical development of competitive products lead to changes to the company's market. Seeing a need to look forward, Graham approached the company who had taught him his Unix skills and was soon teaching their courses himself, and writing and developing new training material. In the mid 1990s, Graham - like Lisa - was early online and developing web sites. He rapidly moved into web applications as part of his training role, and customer started to ask for courses in the technologies he was using - subjects not taught by his employer. He developed the courses and with the help of his employer started to run his own courses at the Employer's facility, using his equipment, customer base and booking and invoicing systems. By 1999, Graham's courses were so sucessful that he wasn't presenting any of his employer's material any longer, and so Lisa and Graham set up the original Well House Consultants training centre in Melksham, Wiltshire. The centre was in a listed building that they bought as a shell, and Lisa and Graham managed the works. The first full course ran there in September, 2000. By 2005 it was clear that Melksham was having a decline in the number and quality of available accomodation, and a chance conversation moved into The Old Manor B&B being bought and completely gutted and refitted as a larger training centre and business accomodation centre. The first course ran here in late 2006, and it opened to the general public in early 2007. Further Information
