I worked as a director for a community based program, served as an intelligence specialist with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, served in the United States Marine Corps, taught social studies, and did analytical research for a Philadelphia representative. I have a Master's degree from Shippensburg University, and currently seeking an opportunity to obtain a doctorate degree in education administration. I worked for the Department of Community and Economic Development as an economic analyst and later transferred to the Department of State as a Quality Assurance Analyst for the Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors. I am a Golden Gloves & Mid Atlantic Amateur (boxing) Association official. Tournament Director for the Golden Gloves in Wilkes Barre, PA. Tae Kwon Do student.”

Jim died Monday, May 15, 2000 in Harrisburg Hospital, and is survived by his wife, Barbara C. Dunmire Thompson. He was employed by Dana Engine Controls Distribution, Carlisle and was formerly employed at Staples Distribution, Chambersburg and the ITT Domestic Pump Co., formerly of Shippensburg. He was a loyal Philadelphia Phillies fan and loved to fish, travel and watch birds. He was a member of Mainsville United Brethren Church, where he was an assistant teacher of the Disciples Sunday school class and belonged to the administrative board. He also was a member of Sons of the American Legion Squadron 223, Shippensburg, and the Friends of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.
