1973		Elwood Rumer "Funeral services for Elwood Seymour Rumer Jr. , 49, of 2208 Walnut Bottom Road in Carlisle, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Carlisle Brethren in Church Church, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle. He died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 2, 1954, in Petersburg, W.Va., he was a son of the late Elwood S. Sr. and Dorothy (Evans) Rumer. A 1973 graduate of Carlisle High School, he served in the Air Force from 1973 to 1977 and was employed by Heavy Duty Tires in Carlisle for 25 years. He was a member of Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church, where he also participated in the Christian Builder's Sunday School class, the Wednesday evening wood shop, the Annual Summer Service crew for Habitat for Humanity, was a boy's leader, served as an usher and video operator and had previously served as Christian Service Brigade/Pioneer. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 25 years, Gabriella (Hair) Rumer; a son, Jared A. Rumer of St. Charles, Mo.; two daughters, Meghan G. Rumer of Carlisle and Kristan E. Rumer at home; a brother, Jerry A. Rumer of Newville; a sister, N. Sue Rumer Darr of New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence E. Rumer. Pastor Alan Robinson will officiate at services. Friends may call from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the church. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home in Carlisle is in charge of arrangements.
